Winners announced of Italian Translation Awards 2012

On 26 February 2013 the Italian Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities announced the winners of the National Translation Awards for 2012. The prizes are given to Italian and foreign translators and publishers who have contributed to the diffusion of Italian culture abroad and of foreign cultures in Italy.

The following translators and publishing houses were awarded a prize for their overall literary activities:

Bruno Berni (translator Danish – Italian)
Ileana Zmaranda Elian (translator Italian – Romanian)
publishing house Editori Internazionali Riuniti
publishing house Alma Books (UK)

Three special prizes were awarded to:

Barbara La Rosa (translator Turkish – Italian)
Mirko Tomasovič (translator Italian – Croatian)
publishing house Claudiana
