On 7 January 2011, the Flemish Authors’ Association (VAV) organizes its second working conference. Participants can take part in subject-specific workshops or attend lectures and debates on various topics that affect authors from different disciplines. During the breaks and after the lectures there will be time to exchange views and experiences with colleagues. The working conference takes place in deSingel in Antwerp.
For literary translators, two items are especially relevant: Henri Bloemen will present the Expertisecentrum Literair Vertalen (http://literairvertalen NULL.org/), a binational (Dutch-Flemish) institution for the promotion of literary translation quality. CEATL president Martin de Haan will speak about literary translators’ working conditions in Europe. Consult the complete program on the VAV website (http://www NULL.auteursvereniging NULL.be/).
