The Italian association of literary translators Strade (Sindacato Traduttori Editoriali) announces that on December 7th 2012 an agreement was signed between Fabio Galimberti, Strade’s legal representative, and Massimo Cestaro, Secretary general of the union SLC-CGIL.

Strade is now officially linked to SLC (Sindacato lavoratori della comunicazione), the union representing workers in the field of communication, ranging from cinema and television to postal services, from the publishing industry to telecommunications. SLC is part of CGIL, the most important workers’ union in Italy. As a result of the agreement Strade’s members are entitled to adhere to SLC and to make use of all services offered by the union, both on a national and on a local level.
