The Spanish association ACE Traductores (http://www NULL.ace-traductores NULL.org/) has been awarded the 2016 Gerardo de Cremona International Award (http://blog NULL.uclm NULL.es/premiogerardocremona/?lang=en) within the category Institutions from the Northern Shore. For the Southern Shore, the prize has gone to the National Centre for Translation in Egypt (http://nct NULL.gov NULL.eg/?___store=english&___from_store=default). Also, the translators Kadhim Jihad, from Iraq, and Francesca Maria Corrao, from Italy, are the respective winners from the Southern and Northern Shore in the category for individuals.
The Gerardo de Cremona International Award for the Promotion of Translation in the Mediterranean was launched in 2015 by several institutions from all over the Mediterranean area. It ‘aims to contribute to strengthen the translation movement between the countries located on the north shore and those on the south shore of the Mediterranean’.
This year’s ceremony will take place in Valetta (Malta) on the 25 October, on the occasion of the Euromediterranean Forum of the Anna Lindh Foundation.
