To celebrate the life and work of the poet and translator Edwin Morgan, Creative Scotland is funding a free place on the six-week SUISS ‘Text and Context: British and Irish Literature from 1900 to the Present’ course from 7th July to 16th August 2014. The Fellowship will take place in Edinburgh, and will cover the cost of all tuition, standard accommodation, most meals, the social and cultural programme, and full use of the facilities at the University of Edinburgh’s library and the National Library of Scotland. In the past, winners have given a one-hour translation seminar to SUISS students with an interest in translation.
Applications for this Fellowship are invited from professional translators with an interest in 20th century and contemporary Scottish writing. Students are not eligible to apply.
The closing date for applications is 30th April 2014.
Applicants should indicate on the application form that they would like to be considered for the Edwin Morgan Translation Fellowship, and include a letter explaining their reasons for applying, together with any details of past and/or prospective publications and names of referees. Further information and an application form can be found on the SUISS website (http://www NULL.summer-school NULL.hss NULL.ed NULL.ac NULL.uk/suiss/).
