Although we are still trying to wind down from all the excitement of the Strasbourg Conference, there is no time to rest! Next stop – the Frankfurt Bookfair.
For the fourth consecutive year, CEATL has been invited to open the conference “Dall’Italiano al mondo” (https://www NULL.salonelibro NULL.it/salto-pro/salto-right-centre/news-mobile/dall%E2%80%99italiano-al-mondo-alla-fiera-del-libro-di-francoforte-2024 NULL.html), with Italy being Guest of Honour at the Buchmesse. If you translate Italian literature and you go to the Buchmesse, save the date for October 16, from 9 am to 11:45, at Zentrum Wort, Pad. 4.1. Italian literary agents, journalists, authors, and experts will talk about the latest trends of Italian fiction, nonfiction, children literature and poetry.
Moreover, our Italian member associations AITI and Strade will participate in the meeting “Travels in Italy. Travels in Germany. Exchanges between the two publishers” (https://italiafrancoforte2024 NULL.com/en/agenda/travels-italy-travels-germany-exchanges-between-two-publishers) on October 16 at 15:30 at Room 1, Italian Collective Stand Hall 5.0 (A22).
The Zentrum Wort – Bühne für Literatur und Übersetzung (Centre of Words – Literature and Translation Stage), co-organized by our German member association VdÜ, will be waiting for you with a lot of interesting panels and discussions. You may find the program here (https://connect NULL.buchmesse NULL.de/newfront/marketplace/events?limit=36&pageNumber=1&day=1729080000) by clicking on “Centre of words” in the “Stages and Programs” menu.
And if that’s not enough, our Swiss member association A*dS together with our friends from the European Writers’ Council (EWC) invite book professionals to a networking apero (https://prohelvetia NULL.ch/en/whats-on/off-stage-switzerland-at-frankfurt-book-fair-2024/#acc-wednesday-16-oct) on 16 October at 16.30, opened with a toast by EWC Secretary-General Nicole Pfister Fetz on “The lost income of authors. On markets that ignore writers”:
